Golisano Display Case
<If RIT; Then Entrepreneur>
I am currently a designer at the student-run graphic design lab Command+g, located at RIT. I had the privilege to work on designing a display case recognizing entrepreneur and philanthropist Thomas Golisano, and various successful RIT alumni. I worked with members of the RIT Archives, Landyn Hatch and Nicole Feldman, to help create this display. It has an overall coding theme as it is displayed in the Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.
I also worked with my fellow designer Samantha Morgan on this project; only the parts I designed are shown in the “Designs” category below.

Event Photos
On Brick City Weekend 2024, Thomas Golisano and members of the Polisseni family came to RIT to celebrate the opening of the <If RIT; Then Entrepreneur> display as well as another display in the Polisseni Center. My peers and I had the amazing opportunity to meet Tom Golisano and talk to him about his work. We also got to present the exhibit and talk about our design process.

Process
Throughout the design process, I frequently checked in with the RIT Archive members for their feedback on the designs. These are some variations I created before we landed on the final designs.

CPU Variations
The CPU is the central processing unit of the motherboard. This is what interprets and executes everything done on the device. It only seemed right to put our list of alumni entrepreneurs here, as they execute great projects and interpret what it means to run a business. The CPU focuses on RIT specifically, including the RIT heading and orange color. HTML coding symbols were added throughout to add to the coding theme.

RAM Variations
The RAM is the random access memory of a computer. This is where the short-term memory of a computer is stored. Here we have highlighted a few specific RIT alumni who have recently excelled as entrepreneurs. We added the alumni’s name, major, graduation year, photo, and description. This was also designed with a coding theme in mind; the background was made green just like an actually RAM in a computer.
